American StarText Box: AMERICAN STAR    Has star shape deep pink blooms that  turn a lighter pink at tips of petals, yellow center this lily is free flowering,  Petals of flower are very narrow, compared to the other star variety, they are so narrow that they have a tendency to droop down. Not very free flowering because it is an odorata rhizome, but if you plant it in a large tub, you will allow the rhizome to create a lot of offspring , thus more plants and you will get more flowers.  Odorata  rhizome.

Green leaves on top, reddish brown underneath.  Young leaves are reddish in color.  
Medium leaf spread 4 to 6 feet when planted in 2-3 gallon container with clay type soil.  .  Has a slight fragrance. 

This hardy lily is a perennial plant and will go dormant in the winter, and will winter over in zone 4 and above if planted where the root ball doesn’t freeze.  
Weather permitting we start shipping in late March to early April and continue until September

In optimum conditions will reach full potential of leaf spread (this is not referring to size of the leaves) we are speaking of the area that the leaves will cover.
